A Wonderful Kimono Dressing Experience.
We walked to Ms Mayphy's home where she explained the differences between the textiles used to make the Kimono and we chose an appropriate Kimono for the season and time of day from her collection. May took plenty of time for the dressing and for the hair detail. I felt wonderful in the soft pink silk Kimono and my husband looked relaxed as a casual Samurai dressed in locally made denim.
May walked with us through the local streets to the Kitano-Tenmangu Shrine highlighting various photo opportunities along the way and left us there to enjoy the experience. Highly recommended.

Amazing and unique experience. Mayphy-san is really sweet! She did our hair so nicely and explained the different parts of the kimono well while dressing us. She also showed us some nice spots around the neighbourhood (a temple, a nice wall with good lighting) to take pictures — she took some really beautiful ones of my daughter, husband and I! When we did this, an antique market was being held, so she walked us through the market and told us what they were selling and the story behind it. We really enjoyed this experience — thank you Mayphy-san!

Really cute and different experience compare with dressing in a kimono store. Ms Mayphy Higashi will share her own beautiful collection with you, she is professional in kimono and also an awesome jazz musician. Recommend this unique experience to everyone! 🙂

I have experienced three kimonos in Kyoto, this time is the best. Ms. Mayphy has good taste and skills, as well as unique creativity. The kimono is exquisite and elegant. This experience makes me feel friendly and comfortable.

Our Kimono experience was so great! We brought delight to older people in the neighborhood who were happy to see real silk kimono. Our dresser Mayphy spent a long time talking to us and engaging with us as she dressed us and personally walked us to the local shrines. A really memorable day!
